Our Commitment

Sercxi is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We recognise that our website must be usable by everyone - including people who rely on assistive technologies - and we are actively working to meet the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA / Directive 2019/882) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

Current Status

We have taken the following steps to improve accessibility on sercxi.io:

  • Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy across all pages
  • Language attribute set on the root HTML element (lang="en")
  • Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images
  • ARIA labels on interactive navigation elements
  • Responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes and zoom levels
  • Cookie-less analytics (Umami) - no consent overlays or accessibility barriers from tracking
  • Descriptive link text on all interactive elements (no generic "Read" or arrow-only labels)
  • Global keyboard focus indicators (gold outline, 2px offset) on all interactive elements
  • Colour contrast ratios meeting WCAG 1.4.3 (≥4.5:1) across all text and background combinations

We acknowledge that some areas of our website may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. We are transparent about this and committed to continuous improvement.

Known Limitations

Based on our internal review, the following areas are under active improvement:

  • Form labelling: We are reviewing all form inputs to ensure visible labels and proper aria-label attributes are consistently applied.
  • Screen reader testing: Manual testing with NVDA and VoiceOver is scheduled to validate key user journeys beyond automated checks.

Improvement Roadmap

We are undertaking the following actions to bring sercxi.io into full compliance:

  • Q1 2026: Published accessibility statement and completed internal review
  • Q1 2026 (completed): Remediated colour contrast ratios, non-descriptive link text, keyboard focus indicators, and navigation focus styles across all pages
  • Q2 2026: Conduct a comprehensive axe-core automated accessibility audit across all pages, resolving all remaining violations
  • Q2 2026: Complete form labelling review and ARIA attribute audit
  • Q3 2026: Conduct manual screen reader testing (NVDA, VoiceOver) on key user journeys
  • Ongoing: Zero new accessibility violations enforced in our development workflow via automated testing

Regulatory Context

The European Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882) has been applicable since 28 June 2025. As a company operating from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, we fall within the scope of this directive. We are working to meet its requirements as part of our broader commitment to inclusive design. Our Singapore operations similarly align with the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) accessibility guidelines.
