Annex JP — Japan (Tokyo satellite)

Tokyo is a satellite of the APAC hub. JP-related mandates are contracted by the APAC entity, with local counsel engaged where the mandate materially touches Japanese soil.

Personal data of individuals in Japan is processed in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI). Cross-border transfer to third countries relies on candidate consent obtained at first contact or on contractual safeguards equivalent to those required by the APPI supplementary rules.

Where a mandate would require a fee-charging employment placement licence under the Employment Security Act, Sercxi will hold the applicable licence and disclose the licence number in the Engagement Letter. Where the licence threshold does not apply, Sercxi acts as executive-search adviser to the Client.

Candidate first contact includes a clear notice of the purpose of processing, retention period, third parties to whom data may be disclosed, and the candidate's rights of access, correction and cessation.
